ACPD needed our help organizing and visualizing critical data in an appealing, clear, and accurate manner for several high-profile reports.
The Solution
The Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy (ACPD) tasked Kokopelli to take the lead in creating a graphic theme and design for their reports including choosing colors, creating graphics and high-quality stock photos to help tell their story. Kokopelli maintained constant communication with the ACPD team and internally to streamline efforts and remain flexible to change when needed to ensure reports stayed on schedule and met ACPD’s expectations.

ACPD needed help organizing and visualizing data contained in several reports, including their 372-page 2021 Comprehensive Annual Report on Public Diplomacy and International Broadcasting and several special report projects. In response, the Kokopelli team dug deep to learn about the reports being made, the audiences, and how to best deliver an excellent product that reflected the intentions and research of ACPD.
The team at Kokopelli streamlined the effort by keeping the process moving from Day 1—sharing updates and requests internally and with ACPD counterparts rather than sitting on any one piece.
The entire team maintained thorough and continuous communication, remaining flexible to change when needed to ensure the reports stayed on schedule and met ACPD's expectations.
Theme & Graphic Design
ACPD relied on the design team at Kokopelli to create a graphic theme and design for their reports by choosing the right visuals to present on brand, accurate, and comprehensive stories any audience could follow. Kokopelli selected colors, created info-graphics, maps, tables, and other illustrations, as well as picked high-quality images to punctuate analytical data.
The goal was to strike a balance between function and design where they complement each other, while being open and flexible to change throughout the creative and editorial process—ultimately delivering reports that were both beautiful to look at and easy to read.
The final result has been visually appealing reports that tell the story of ACPD and their crucial work.

Section 508 Compliance
ACPD needed to comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, ensuring their digital documents were readable and accessible by everyone no matter if they have a disability or not.
Using our full-service production capabilities, we created compelling imagery and messaging (including writing alternative descriptive text for all images) suitable for multiple mediums, paying special attention to color combinations, text size, and font style.
